About Bleeding Through

Bleeding Through was established in Woodlake, California in 1999, rooted in a band called Breakneck formed in 1998. The original lineup included vocalist Brandan Schieppati, guitarists Javier Van Huss and Scott Danough, bassist Chad Tafolla, and drummer Troy Born. Over time, the lineup changed with the departure of Van Huss and the addition of Dave Peters. Later, Tafolla switched from bass to guitar, followed by Brandon Conway as the new bassist and later Marc Jackson.

The band broadened their hardcore sound by incorporating elements of black and death metal. Their name symbolizes the idea that everyone, regardless of race or sexual orientation, bleeds the same and goes through life the same way. The band signed with Indecision Records in April 2001 and released “Portrait of the Goddess” in 2002. Following the release, Schieppati focused on Bleeding Through and the band consisted of Danough, Lepke, Morris, and Youngsma.
