About I Set My Friends On Fire

Matt Mehana and Nabil Moo formed the experimental rock band I Set My Friends on Fire (ISMFOF) in Miami, Florida in 2007. The band signed with Epitaph Records and released their debut album, “You Can’t Spell Slaughter Without Laughter,” in 2008. However, tension between Mehana and Moo led to the shelving of their second album, “Astral Rejection.” Chris Lent later joined the band and left after the release of the second album in 2011. The third album, “Caterpillar Sex,” has been announced but has yet to see a release.

Smosh teamed up with ISMFOF in 2008 and released their first music video and single, “Sex Ed Rocks,” which received over 20 million views. In 2009, they released their second music video and single, “Four Years Foreplay,” which attracted over 7 million views and featured ISMFOF’s new drummer, Chris Lent from From First To Last.

In 2019, the band released a mini EP in collaboration with rapper Lil Lotus, entitled “Online Now.” They also confirmed on Instagram that “Caterpillar Sex” was still in production, with a potential release in 2020. However, the band has stated that they currently have no tour plans.
