About One-Eyed Doll

One-Eyed Doll, a gothic rock duo based in Austin, Texas, won the Best Punk Band award at the Austin Music Awards at SXSW in 2009, 2010, and 2011. However, the band officially retired on May 21, 2021, following a lengthy hiatus. The band, which consisted of lead singer and guitarist Kimberly Freeman and drummer/producer Jason Rufuss Sewell (Junior), performed in a theatrical style that blended the sounds of Pixies, Siouxsie, Hole, Dresden Dolls, White Stripes, and Marilyn Manson.

Revolver Magazine featured Freeman as one of Revolver Magazine’s Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock in 2011, 2012, and 2015. In addition, Guitar Player Magazine rated her as one of their Top 20 Most Extraordinary Guitarists. One-Eyed Doll’s discography included six albums under the band’s name, four solo albums by Freeman, and one album released under the name Ghetto Princess. Moreover, the band achieved the No. 1 spot on ReverbNation’s local chart. Additionally, the band toured across the country with acts such as OTEP Cold, Wayne Static (of Static X), Peelander Z, Polkadot Cadaver, Wednesday 13, Mushroomhead, and Orgy. In 2010, Freeman was part of ArcAttack, a semi-finalist on America’s Got Talent.

About The Venue

The Boardwalk, founded by Mark Earl in 1987, was a staple in the Sacramento music scene until its closure in January 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and Earl’s passing. Nine months later, Derek Clark and Sara Green, owners of Orangevale’s Palm Tree Brewing Company, bought the property and renovated the venue, including the installation of advanced sound and lighting systems.
