Employed To Seve Release New Digital Album

Employed To Serve will release a deluxe edition of their latest studio album, Conquering, on March 10 via Spinefarm. This edition will feature four new tracks: a new recording, a remix, and two live tracks recorded during their tour with Gojira in Europe. The new recording, “Take Back Control,” was produced and mixed by Lewis Johns, who also worked on the Conquering album. The remix is a reimagined version of “Sun Up To Sun Down,” featuring New Zealand metal band Alien Weaponry.

The band will embark on the “Fortitude Tour” with Gojira and Alien Weaponry this month, starting with a show at the 10,400 capacity Alexandra Palace in London. Conquering was released in September 2021 and received critical acclaim, with Metal Hammer placing it #4 on their list of best albums of the year and Kerrang! ranking it #6. Employed To Serve has become one of the UK’s most prominent metal bands, with four albums and numerous accolades under their belt.

The Devil Wears Prada — Mike Hranica [vocals], Jeremy DePoyster [vocals, guitar], Mason Nagy [bass], Kyle Sipress [guitar], Jonathan Gering [keys, synthesizers], and Giuseppe Capolupo [drums] — have shared the video for their new single “Cancer.”

Watch it below:

The track lives on their eighth album Color Decay, out now via Solid State. Get it here.

“Lyrically, this song is about how many of the people I have looked up to and idolized have ended up committing suicide,” says Gering. “It is something that has always made me question if I was on the right path in my own life. During the recording process, we learned of a another death, and I immediately assumed it was suicide. It ended up that this person had been secretly battling cancer for years, and for some reason, that made me feel relieved. The track addresses how messed up that thought process is and the guilt that comes along with it. The song and album end with the original iphone voice memo of when we were writing the song and it’s pitched down because we changed the key.”
